Elaine Carlson has been working in the Chicago off-loop, storefront theater community for years. Decades, even. She is currently a member of Promethean Theatre Ensemble and is represented by Lily's Talent. Let's be frank, Elaine hasn't done a particularly good job keeping track of production photos, reviews, accolades, etc. But since websites are apparently the thing to do, she's gathered up some random bits and put them here. Enjoy.

Elaine’s recent stage credits include Promethean’s Mrs. Warren's Profession, Mad Beat Hip & Gone, The Madwoman of Chaillot, The Lion in Winter, Tiger at the Gates and A Study in Scarlet; Eclipse Theatre Company's Why Torture is Wrong and the People Who Love Them and A Perfect Ganesh; and City Lit’s J.B, The Haunting of Hill House and At Home at the Zoo. She has worked with many other Chicago companies including-but-not-limited-to: Absolute, American Blues, Apple Tree, Bailiwick, Court, Stage Left, and Victory Gardens. She spent years in wimple and veil at the Royal George Theater and on national tour, performing in the long-running, one-woman improvisational comedies Put the Nuns in Charge and Saints & Sinners.
There have been some highlights and recognition along the way. Elaine has been honored with three Joseph Jefferson awards: as both an actress in a leading role and also as an ensemble member in Famous Door’s Salt of the Earth; and again as an ensemble member in Pegasus Players’ Noises Off. Three performances earned her additional Jeff nominations: Mrs. Kitty Warren in the 2020 Promethean production of Mrs. Warren’s Profession (performer in a principal role); Luella in the 2019 Eclipse production of Why Torture is Wrong….(performer in a supporting role); and Eleanor of Aquitaine in Promethean’s 2016 production of The Lion in Winter (actress in a principal role).
